Matt Merrick heads-up our firm's Family Visa practice team. Matt Merrick is an immigration attorney serving the needs of individuals, families, businesses and the community. With more than a decade of legal experience, Matt offers knowledgeable and professional representation to those seeking advice on U.S. immigration law or in need of representation in immigration legal proceedings.

Matt obtained his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 2000. He is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and its LGBT Committee. Matt also served for 5 years as a board member on the LGBT Bar Association of Greater New York. Throughout his career, Matt has been an active pro bono counsel on immigration matters and has successfully obtained asylum in the U.S. for based on well founded fear of persecution.
Matt previously served as a staff attorney for the acclaimed pro bono immigration services program CUNY Citizenship Now! Working throughout New York City, Matt assisted the area's neediest citizens with a range of immigration issues, including Naturalization, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, and other family-based immigration issues. Matthew is now applying his extensive experience representing the LGBT community to assist same-sex couples seeking immigrant visas for their spouses as well as fiance visas.
